How proud Aunt Maggie and Uncle George would’ve been to see this beautiful little girl. I know they are with her everywhere “that is where her smile comes from” I’d like to believe. And of course probably from the “best Dad” in the universe!!

    Thanks again for checking in,

  37. Pat Bass Nov 6th 2009

I couldn’t have said it better myself!!! God help us!!

  38. Larry Nov 6th 2009

I agree with all your comments, unfortunately we are so far removed from the situation we can’t do much other then to announce our displeasure. In the business world once his position was known, I would have fired or dismissed that individual immediately, and I may fire the person that hire him.. as well.

  39. cocotoday Nov 7th 2009

    Larry,
let us see if the leadership in this case are as wise and have as much common sense as you!

  40. victoriagoldcollection Nov 7th 2009

This is just one more piece of news to make us all sit up and take notice. We tolerate many…even those in our government!!!

    Thank you for speaking out.

  41. dena weinberg Nov 7th 2009

Dear Colleen: I uttered almost the very same words to Ron and to my son Glenn. Both felt as I do. I just can’t seem to find the right words to utter my frustration, and contempt, as emotionally as I would like to. A loud scream is one of the ways I can relieve the feelings. Although I have seen the silent majority speaking out at these so called meetings around the country, (which is good) I sometimes wonder what good is it doing??? Do you think people are any the wiser? Do you think at the next elections voters will be better informed and not just listen to the tv and bias stations, and read bias newspapers, and see things as they really are??? Will they look and read about the candidates, not just recent events but way back before they became viable candidates? Maybe then we will be able to pick GOOD and HONEST leaders to lead this country back to the wonderful, safe, and free, place it once was.

  42. Mollie Nov 8th 2009

I NEVER thought I’d see anything like this in my lifetime. How sad! America was once the strongest, most God fearing, most influential, most affluent nation in the world and if it wasn’t I believed it was. Now I hate to think about what is in store for my sons and their future families. All I can say is Wake up America! Stand up for our rights as US Citizens before it’s too late and PRAY PRAY PRAY!

  43. Mollie Nov 8th 2009

I shudder to think about how the families of the victims feel about their family members losing their lives while serving our country right here at home.

  44. cocotoday Nov 9th 2009

    Molly

I agree and have thought about those sad families and the terrible unnecessary waste of their loved one.

  45. cocotoday Nov 9th 2009

    Dena
I am not sure they can accept their own error and make those kinds of changes. The lack of concern after each atrocity we have watched this year seems to grow.
I appreciate your feelings and concerns.

  46. Terri Jones Nov 23rd 2009

Well I am extremely thankful for my children. I have grown closer to them and have spent more quality time together. Like today we had watched the Steeler game although they lost :( and had a wonderful dinner at my place. It was a beautiful day outside and even my dog was being nice and playful with my family. I am thankful for good health – my 2 jobs- money in the bank and neighbors.

  47. cocotoday Nov 23rd 2009

    Terri,
What a great list of good things to be thankful for!
    Thanks for sharing!
    P.S.
    Sorry for the loss!

Thanks guys! She’s my little angel. Sometimes, if it wasn’t for her, I think I’d be completely lost. Great blogging Colleen! And I mean that for all…not just this one :)

  51. George Karagozian Dec 26th 2009

  54. Amazing story who knew that the story of Rudolph was a real one. Thanks Colleen!

  55. victoriagoldcollection Dec 30th 2009

    Thank you !!

  56. Colleen, thanks for posting the interview.

I thought you might want to know about the 46664 Bangle initiative http://www.theBangle.com, where every wrist bracelet sold donates funds to the 46664 campaign of the Nelson Mandela Foundation. During the Invictus film as they walk through the Robben Island prison, they explain Nelson Mandela’s prison number was 46664 (prisoner number 466, imprisoned in the year ’64). This number is now an international symbol for Mr. Mandela’s humanitarian work worldwide, and it is engraved on every bangle, along with a digital imprint of Nelson Mandela’s hand.

The bangle project also empowers those affected by HIV AIDS by providing employment in South Africa through the production of the bangles and the handmade packaging. The jewelry carries a global message about HIV AIDS prevention and social responsibility as people worldwide wear the bangle with pride, inspired by the leadership of Mr. Mandela.

Copper, silver, gold and platinum bangles have a unique serial number and people can track online the project benefiting from the bangle purchase. Prices start at $19.99 and can be ordered online at http://www.theBangle.com or through the call center at 1 866 984 6664.

    Thanks for reading,

  57. OMG Colleen

What a fantastic job you did describing the people and the restaurants. I cannot believe you did that.

You certainly honored the wonderful people who accommodated us that night.
They even separated the checks for everyone without complaint.

It’s funny that you wrote about them because Tom and I were going up there this past Thursday to eat and say hi.
I’m sure they remember us. Tom got home from work to late, but we’re going to make another attempt this week.
I want to thank them personally for giving us the opportunity to celebrate my birthday with them.

You did a quality job on your blog Colleen and if somehow I can share that with others let me know how I can do it. I would like for all my friends to see it.

Thank you friend with a huge heart. I appreciate every thing we do together and times we spend together. I’m so very happy that I was directed to CoCoGeri :)

My life wouldn’t be the same without you in it. I know Tom agree’s

    Love Diane

  58. Apolitical, eh? You had me convinced you were attempting to “duke it out” with the best of them. I don’t think the original intention of the Soviet Revolution was to become nationalistic. I think they believed the world economic system would crumble and there wouldn’t really be other states or systems to compete with. Communism in that light depends on cooperation between countries, but you know that.

I think South and Middle America are attempting this form of Communism right now. Did you know that Cuba actually exports doctors because their state-run education system has produced something that our education system cannot (we depend on imports).

I think you’re absolutely right when you say that Republicans, in the end, are anarchists. But, they want to ensure that conditions are right, first. What’s the purpose of a business or corporation? Make profits, right? So, if entities within the free market are designed to make profits, and government disappears who looks out for me and you? Who makes sure that Walmart doesn’t join up with Target and lower wages for hourly workers? What happens when technology gets so advanced that jobs are no longer available for the majority of the population? Who will ensure that we are taken care of?

How much money makes a person rich? $5 million? I can assure that I don’t have that much . . . and I’m guessing that you don’t either because you are “apolitical.” If you had that much you would know what side you were on. The problem is that people who don’t have that much don’t know which political party has their interest in mind when they levy taxes or make decisions. -antiwasp

  59. cocotoday Jan 25th 2010

    Dear Antiwasp
It was so good of you to stop in and take a look a look around. I appreciate the time you took to give your impressions of my post. I do believe you may have misunderstood the context of the writing here both mine and the words of Nicholas Gold, concerning the different options of thought or positions. I was using his writing to look at in my own personal research of the options in deciding wether or not I should reconcider my current choice of political position.
In these types of conversations around issues that make a difference in our lives and those of the future generations it is clear to me that in all discussions there should be the willingness to be clear with others as to what it is they are suggesting or sharing. I will consider your well posed questions also as I continue to challenge my own considerations.
    Respectfully,
    C.K. Mckeown
