3 Secrets to the Goal of Balance

Here is some of what is shared at Bay Area Goal Setters Rock

On Sunday at church the Pastor gave a great conversation on the Goal of Balance so I decided to share it here as well as at the new goal setting site. Hope it is of value to you.

The Goal of Balance has three points or secrets to consider and a word picture that is used to make the point is that of trying to balance a baseball bat in the palm of your outstretched hand. While you try to or imagine this you will first note that it will be important that you have a proper focus with the bat. It will be best if that is some where near the top of the bat. If you try to balance the bat without it, instead looking off somewhere else, it will surely fall.

As you continue with the proper focus the next discovery you will make is that you will need to make constant corrections. Your hand will instinctively move in order to compensate to maintain the balance of the bat. Did you see that?? Moving towards a well conceived goal WILL require constant corrections as you encounter the issues that will certainly happen surrounding it that can pull you off track.

Equally important and simultaneously necessary is a clear objective needed while the goal is persued. Without a clear objective about why achieving the goal is of utmost importance, success is much less likely to occur.
There is a wonderful story that can add more insight to this found in the Bible in the Book of 2 Kings chapter 4 versus 1-7. There is a woman who has a goal to survive and only has a pot of oil and a good contact.

P. S.When you read it see if you can recognise how she used these steps to find the achievement of her goal. Come back soon and leave a comment I’d love to know if you saw it!

Universal Music Day

Hats off to Susan Patricia Golden and her incredible vision for a ”Universal Music Day”! The Universal Music Day just celebrated it’s 3rd anniversary with the celebration being held in sunny Clearwater , Florida at the Octagon Art Center. It was an eclectic gathering of musical artist ranging from young singers Skylar and Lexie to Amass aka Allen hailing originally from Russia, playing the mandolin and about to have his 90th birthday.
Susan’s fun and easy way as the hostess of the evening created for the audience a personal connection to her vision of everyone finding and then sharing their music with the world. Susan encouraged the artist to share their personal story of finding their gift before they shared it making it even more wonderful for us the audience.
The evening’s line up began with Sharis Coleman-Der and Linda Faust who had us relaxing with laughter at their rendition of “BlackBeans” then also included the wonderful piano playing of Mary Aduddell,Roger Coe whose unique acappella song gave even more impact to the inspiring lyrics he shared then followed by Denise Taylor with Antonio as guitar back up who just recently began to share her awesome voice with a title called “No One Loves Just Like You a really great idea and so powerfully delivered. The evening’s celebrities were featuring Beatnik Castle g Francillia sharing their stage with Justin Elfis a welcomed guest siger and guitarist. Amazing talents who are up for one of this year’s Grammy Award’s and oh what a range in sounds they made.
The end of the evening had last but not least Chuckie Love and Rev. Nick Ozuna who brought the evening to a close with tremendous passion and words like ” setting space on fire with my love” and the ethereal sound of a Japanese Shakuhachi wow so much inspiration in just a few hours, all due to the foresight and vision of Susan Patricia Golden’s “Universal Music Day” and her continual invitation to all of us the find and share our music.

So have you found your music?

Seniors Speak Out VIA EMAIL!

This was sent to Mr. Rand who is
the Executive Director of AARP

Dear Mr. Rand,

Recently you sent us a letter encouraging us to renew our lapsed membership in AARP by the requested date. I know it is not what you were looking for, but this is the most honest response I can give you. Our gap in coverage is merely a microscopic symptom of the real problem, a deepening lack of faith.

While we have proudly maintained our membership for several years and have long admired the AARP goals and principles, regrettably, we can no longer endorse it’s abdication of our values. Your letter specifically stated that we can count on AARP to speak up for our rights, yet the voice we hear is not ours. Your offer of being kept up to date on important issues through DIVIDED WE FAIL presents neither an impartial view nor the one we have come to embrace. We do believe that when two parties agree all the time on everything presented to them, one is probably not necessary. But, when the opinions and long term goals are diametrically opposed, the divorce is imminent. This is the philosophy which spawned our 200 years of government.

Once upon a time, we looked forward to being part of the senior demographic. We also looked to AARP to provide certain benefits and give our voice a power we could not possibly hope to achieve on our own. AARP gave us a sense of belonging which we no longer enjoy. The Socialist politics practiced by the Obama administration and empowered by AARP serves only to raise the blood pressure my medical insurance strives to contain. Clearly a conflict of interest there!

We do not understand the AARP posture, feel greatly betrayed by the guiding forces whom we expected to map out our senior years and leave your ranks with a great sense of regret. We mitigate that disappointment with the relief of knowing that we are not contributing to the problem anymore by renewing our membership. There are numerous other organizations which offer discounts without threatening our way of life or offending our sensibilities.

This Presidential Administration scares the living daylights out of us. Not just for ourselves, but for our proud and bloodstained heritage, but even more importantly for our children and grandchildren. Washington has rendered Soylent Green a prophetic cautionary tale rather than a nonfiction scare tactic. I have never in my life endorsed any militant or radical groups, yet now I find myself listening to them. I don’t have to agree with them to appreciate the fear which birthed their existence. Their borderline insanity presents little more than a balance to the voice of the Socialist mindset in power. Perhaps I became American by a great stroke of luck in some cosmic uterine lottery, but in my adulthood I CHOOSE to embrace it and nurture the freedoms it represents as well as the responsibilities it requires.

Your website generously offers us the opportunity to receive all communication in Spanish. ARE YOU KIDDING??? Someone has broken into our ‘house’, invaded our home without our invitation or consent. The President has insisted we keep the perpetrator in comfort and learn the perp language so we can communicate our reluctant welcome to them.
I DON’T choose to welcome them.

I DON’T choose to support them.

I DON’T choose to educate them.

I DON’T choose to medicate them, pay for their food or clothing.

American home invaders get arrested.

Please explain to me why foreign lawbreakers can enjoy privileges on American soil that Americans do not get?

Why do some immigrants have to play the game to be welcomed and others only have to break & enter to be welcomed?

We travel for a living. Walt hauls horses all over this great country, averaging over 10,000 miles a month when he is out there. He meets more people than a politician on caffeine overdose. Of all the many good folks he enjoyed on this last 10,000 miles, this trip yielded only ONE supporter of the current administration. One of us is out of touch with mainstream America. Since our poll is conducted without funding, I have more faith in it than one which is power driven.

We have decided to forward this to everyone on our mailing list, and will encourage them to do the same. With several hundred in my address book, I have every faith that the eventual exponential factor will make a credible statement to you..

I am disappointed as hell.

I am scared as hell.

I am MAD as hell, and I’m NOT gonna take it anymore!

This Year's Last 100 Days

Sunset

I had an interesting email this week and thought it would be appropriate to share with all of you these interesting end of the year questions. A shift from making New Years’s Resolution is the idea of working it backwards. So here it is…

We all began this year at GO, and all roads lead to a final rendezvous; the difference is what we’ve done en route. Goals set, actions taken, and results realized determine if you get to call this year a success or not.

September 23rd is an important date as it marks the 100 day countdown of 2009.

With that in mind, I have put together a number of questions for you to consider as you progress toward the finish line and call this year a wrap:

1. What specific results have you achieved so far this year?
2. Are you healthier, wealthier, and wiser?
3. Are you winning, losing or just holding ground?
4. What results are you committed to achieve by the end of the year?
5. How have you grown and what have you learned this year?
6. Is there any unfinished business that needs to be tended to in your life?
7. Are you actively pursuing what’s most important on a daily basis?
8. What habits do you need to change to ensure better results?
9. What is the key issue that inhibits your ability to perform at your best?

You must live to answer and honor these questions, because when it comes to the last 100 days of the year, every day and everything you do counts.

Whatis Nazism,Facistism,Democrat,Republican

In beginning of my study of all things Liberitarian, I came across this writing and found it most interesting to help me understand the meanings of other political identifications. I am sure it will be of help as I begin to understand the difference between my current party the REPUBLICANS and Liberitarians, maybe you would be interested also…
EXCERPT:

“I am frequently puzzled, if not amused, by the ability of the left-

leaning literati to morph the definition of political words and phrases

to simultaneously alter perceptions of the past and re-frame the

current political debate in their favor. I must applaud this ability of the

left to alter the perceptions of the masses while honestly admonishing

the right for allowing such deception to continue unchallenged. When I

came across your web page my attention was netted by your

comparison of Republicans to fascists. Now, the Republicans, for all

their faults, are not fascists, but by your artistry you seem eager to

equate them with the Nazis. Were the Nazis fascists? Of course. But

why were they fascists? Why do we call them fascists? A better

question would be: why do we continue to associate Nazis with the

right when the Nazis were leftists. Now, I am not equating Nazis with

Democrats any more than I am equating Democrats to communists.

The Democrats are as distant from Nazis and Communists on the

political spectrum as Republicans are from anarchists. The term “Nazi”

is a shortened form of National Socialists. “Socialists.” The Nazis

were Socialists. Hitler and his evil cronies, when they were elected the

heads of German government, began transferring all private industry

into public hands. The Nazi government took control of all economic

matters. This is a far cry from conservative Republicans who want

government out of the private sector. Now, why are the Nazis titled

“fascists”? Fascism is defined as “a centralized government regime with

extremely nationalistic tendencies with an economic system based on

state-controlled capitalism.” Again, we have “state-controlled

capitalism.” Fascism is a form of socialism. Why then has the left

continued to equate fascism with the right? Is it because of the

“nationalism”? The Soviet Union was nationalistic in trying to dominate

the Slavic world; they weren’t right wingers.

Perhaps its the “capitalism” aspect? But left-wing socialism is defined

by its insistence upon state-controlled capitalism. Yes, the Nazis were

Socialists and, therefore left-wing, but, of course, this is no reason to

then call Democrats Nazis and fascists by extension. The left has

attempted to distance themselves from Nazis and Communists, and

they should, but your unfortunate and unnecessary feelings of

guilt about being on the same side of the spectrum as Nazis. Also

Communists should not invite attempts to label the right as left-wing

fascists. If you want to truly mock the right equate them with

anarchist; those who do not want any government. By this you are

at least on the right track, so to speak. In fact, compare the

Republicans to Sacco and Vanzetti. Personally, I am apolitical.

I just enjoy seeing the two sides duke it out for history.” – Originally

I am Still Proud to Be an American

Margaritaville Remembers

This was an unexpected experience for sure! We were all together to celebrate mom’s 70th birthday in Crystal River. Not knowing what to expect we ventured to a local favorite restarant called Margaritagrille on the water. Being that it was scallop season, it was packed. I was introduced to the owner a Greek American know for his gentle friendly personality that everyone feels like a personal friend to.

This owners mission to be a credible entreprenuer but in a way that not only creates a fun places to meet and eat but also to remember an important moment in our country’s history. The day of the second foriegn violation of our country…9/11.

I was made to remember the reality of what that day suggested to us as a nation and realized in that moment of remembering that I had not been encouraged to remember this in eight years by anyone else. Some how tonight the evening of the eleventh os September, as I am watching that incredible moment on FOX News, I find that strange.

Attraction Marketing

Channelside Artist OptionsChannelside Artists at Work

Perusing through a Tampa Bay hotspot called Channelside I encountered him. The Channelside Artist.
Focused intently he was creating a work of art for an inspired customer.

His tools… a canvas and cans of paint. Spray paint to be precise. He used newspaper, cardboard, his hands, his eyes and his creative spirit.
The artist provided a portfolio of options for his potential client to choose from. His prices appeared moderate. The crowd gathered around to watch the inspiration of a local artist doing his thing. A high tech grafiti artist creating beautiful art on canvas.

No big name in lights not even a business card around. Just him, on his knees, in the midst of a crowd doing what comes obviously natural for him. Creating at the beckoning of an inspired customer.

Simply a perfect example of attraction marketing.
